About Job Abednego David

Job Abednego David (b. 1994) is a former rebel turned Filipino artist based in Quezon City. Alongside his vibrant art practice, he is now dedicated to peace advocacy, actively working to foster healing and reconciliation in conflict-affected areas. His dual role as an artist and peace advocate reflects his commitment to using creativity as a means to inspire hope and transformation in communities impacted by violence.

He studied at the University of the Philippines Diliman College of Fine Arts, where he was actively involved in student activism and served as a student leader. During his time there, he was recognized as a finalist in the Shell National Art Competition in 2013, and a semi-finalist in MADE in 2014, in addition to participating in various group exhibitions.

Job spent six years in the Sierra Madre Mountain Ranges and on Mount Baco on Mindoro Island as a rebel. After surrendering, he turned to painting, channeling his experiences into his art. Recently, he was a semi-finalist in the MADE 2025 competition. His upcoming solo exhibition is scheduled for January 2026 at Gravity Art Space, showcasing his journey from conflict to creative expression and peace advocacy.
